What is StickMart?
A convenience store for the absurd - wtf?
We’re Ethan Stickley and Aaron Martinez, cousins and co-owners of StickMart, a convenience store for the strange.
It started as a podcast between two working creatives, looking to converse on topics we find interesting. We’ve covered zombies, westerns, cults, Unity development, concept albums, AI as artistic medium, and lots in between. The dialog has some technical texture (we’re working creatives), but it’s as much bullshit as insight . We try to be interesting. Most episodes, we even manage it.
Between the banter, we have a few commercials (for totally real products that can only be found at StickMart), and audio sketches. It’s as much sandbox as it is feigning intellect behind a hot mic. Sound experiments. Songs. Skits and Bits.
They range from thematically connected to the episode to completely unrelated. We make them fast and without a ton of polish. That’s part of the charm.
The production alternates between us, giving each episode a different sensibility depending on who’s got the edit. We like it that way.
